Post subject:  Ship Wavertree has royal yards

Please pardon a non-rail topic; but the iron sailing cargo ship Wavertree which belongs to the South Street Seaport Museum in New York has spent the summer in a Staten Island ship yard having her rigging and much wood work restored. They spent $10 million on the project.

She will return to the museum on Saturday September 24, 2016.

These cargo ships brought large amounts of iron railroad rails to the United States, from rolling mills in England the 19th century.
