A small museum, to be sure:

I had an opportunity to visit this past weekend and it sounds like they have not yet identified either a new site nor a source of the funds that would be needed for them to relocate.

Sorry to hear that. Probably the most realistic possibility would be for the museum to relocate to McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale-if they can come up with the resources to do that. Any sizable amount of land with a building in that area is going to be $1 million plus.

Old Pueblo Trolley was in a similar position until this past year, when we were able to acquire a large industrial site in the City of South Tucson, Arizona. The only other piece of property owned by Old Pueblo Trolley is our car barn located on 8th Street. The depot building occupied by the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum, Park Avenue yard and 18th Street yard are all leased properties. The SATM building is leased from the City of Tucson and is a significant tourist draw at the station. We are in the process of vacating the Park Avenue and 18th Street properties as resources permit. The Park Avenue yard is being condemned as part of the widening of Broadway Boulevard. We were aware of that years ago and thus, planned accordingly. Now, we do have a sizable mortgage on the new facility but the financing has been arranged that in a worst case scenario, we will be able to remain in situ. Of course, we plan to pay off the mortgage as soon as possible and are working towards that end.
