For a considerable period of time, up to at least 2007 Henschel & Son (Kassel) C/N 10842 of 1911 was in the hands of the Aalholm Motor Museum in Denmark. The museum closed in 2007, and much if not all of its assets were sold at auction in 2012.

I cannot find any record of where this locomotive went. Does anyone happen to know or have a source of information I could inquire of?

Also, our information on this locomotive's wheel arrangement is dubious at best. We list it as a 4-2-0 and I'm fairly certain Henschel built nothing of that wheel arrangement in the 20th century. Information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You might try contacting RM/Soothebys Auctions. The locomotive was not listed on the auction block, my guess is that it was sold privately before the auction. There was a gravel area next to the vintage (replica?) royal railroad carriage from the 1890s. I bet that is where the locomotive was displayed.

In further research, it looks like this engine was a 1960s steampunk version of an early loco.

Similar engine:

The background on these engines is all Dutch to me.

Not surprisingly, they're actually the same locomotive. (How many of those could there be?).

Google Translate reads like bad subtitles on a foreign film, but it's accurate enough to get the idea.

Hi

It is reported now that the event center KoolsVille Avenue, Frejlev has taken over all the covered passages carts and stands as a user of the locomotive "Odin". Dræsinen is also retained locally.

First, I congratulate Blovstrød course with PM locomotive and KoolsVille Western City with four passenger carriages. I suppose it comes to the three yellow closed and the one covered red wagon.
It will be interesting to get the equipment out and running.

Looking closely at the second image, that was actually an 0-6-0 converted to an 0-6-2 of sorts, masquerading as a 4-2-0. (Got that?)

Definitely a one of a kind. Looks like the large "driver" was made from a real drive wheel. Guessing, and it's purely a guess, they found an axle from a larger engine, possibly standard gauge, and re-gauged and re-purposed it.

In the car world, this would be a "resto-o-mod". :)

Hey Doug,

I checked Jernbane.dk and found this; http://www.jernbanen.dk/materiel.php?bid=19084 Look at it with google chrome and it will give you the option translate the page. Mentioned as the final note in the info list, the locomotive was sold to a private party in 2013. Unfortunately I do not know who that private party is.

Jernbane.dk is the ultimate list for every piece of railway equipment to have ever run in Denmark.

Also, did you ever get the email I sent with all the Danish locomotive corrections?

I believe I know the current owner, and while I can't reveal his name, I can assure you that I would have a hard time finding a better home for a steam locomotive.
I actually expect to see this one steaming again one day.

Best regards
Jens

I posted this previously, but it seems to have been overlooked.
