The Santa Clara Valley (CA) RR society was gifted a 1941 GE 23 ton switcher. The information various members here supplied was invaluable and we are very grateful.
I just got a notice that our first restoration meeting will be 21 Jan and I cannot wait!
My ultimate desire is to drive this switcher.

The Shelburne Falls (MA) Trolley Museum had several significant accomplishments in 2016.

1) We "completed" (is anything ever really complete?) our 40'x60' steel Carbarn. You can read the entire pictorial report at:
http://www.sftm.org/carbarn.shtml

2) We put up the overhead wire for the House Track that serves the new Carbarn. There are a few videos of this on our YouTube channel at:
https://www.youtube.com/user/SFTM10

3) We continued to upgrade the House Track, with new ballast, tamping, joint replacement.

4) We completed exterior restoration of our Troy and Greenfield/Fitchburg/Boston and Maine 1867 Freight House.

Thanks to all the donors and volunteers who make this all possible.

Here is a few pics of what I have been working on this summer, and since 2006. It is a 1920, 100 Ton Bucyrus steam railway crane originally owned by Canadian Pacific Railway. We have had a new boiler manufactured for it, installed all new code piping, new bunkers, engines have been gone over and made operational, historically correct lettering, and it will be operational for 2017. When fired up on coal next year for Canada's 150th Anniversary, it will be the only operational steam crane in Canada at this time.
Also, although not a railway artifact, we are also working on restoring to operation, a 1912, Waterous Steam Road Roller, manufactured by Waterous Engine Co. , Brantford, Ontario, Canada.
