Post subject:  GM&O Bloomington Roundhouse Fires

Hi All,

A while back I published an article in the McLean County, IL Genealogical Society's Journal, Gleanings. It was about the two arson fires that took place at the former GM&O roundhouse in Bloomington. One fire took place in 1972 after roof workers on a nearby shop building saw someone lighting something on fire right next to the roundhouse and then walking away. The fire leveled half of the building and damaged a large portion beyond repair. The second fire happened a year later and destroyed the rest of the building. The only evidence that this was arson related was a Molotov cocktail found by police nearby.

I read through dozens of old newspapers to try to find out if they ever caught the arsonists but I couldn't find anything. Does anybody know if they did?
