Post subject:  Book of Pullman Trolley Car Drawings

We are assembling floor and elevation drawing plans of early Pullman trolley and suburban cars in our collection for the period from 1874 to 1924, possibly extending them to the 1929 IC, C&NS and CSS&B interurbans. Please contact us off net if there is any interest in an indexed volume (i.e. low-res) of these cars, many of which we cannot identify from the library internal indexes by company, which would accompany the drawings. Cost of a letter size loose bound volume would be $75 ($100 if cars to 1929 are added) if we went ahead and completed the project. There are 125 individual drawings by car plan number, most not identified with a particular order. To those would be added an index by interurban and rapid transit companies, each order listed by lot number and date, in some cases including the plan number if we can locate it. There would be included maybe 6 photos in the glass plate negative collection. This book of letter size images on 24# loose-bound paper could contribute to a continuing project for those interested in Pullman's limited involvement in this type of car construction. Note that thousands of custom-built cars were constructed in this time period so this just represents what we happen to have in the Pullman Library collections.
Please contact us off net if there is any interest in this printed document. Costs of the full size drawings if requested will be the usual price.

Sincerely, Ted Anderson volunteer curator
