SAVE THE DATES OCT.3-7 HeritageRail Alliance (Formerly ATRRM) is meeting in Minneapolis. The top preservationists in North America will be there. Hope you can attend. Here's a preview.

It's a shame that the convention committee chose to ignore all the midsize organizations in the region for tours. We had to find out about the tours by this posting. Iron Horse Rail in Chisago MN, Colfax RR Museum in Colfax WI, Wisconsin Great Northern in Trego WI, Spooner RR Museum in Spooner WI, Gopher State Museum in New Prague MN, and Milwaukee Road Heritage Center in Montevideo MN are closer than some of the tour sites and offer a much wider and diverse examples of collections and organizations. Maybe the tour committee needs to add one or two extra options for tours. Conventions like this are what help keep these museums alive and provide them support to go back to their local politicians to show how they bring visitors to the area and why they're important to the local community. |
