Post subject:  Bingham Utah 0-6-0 Porter

A new photo has surfaced, showing one of the four 0-6-0 Porters used by the Bingham Canyon & Camp Floyd road in Utah. The photo was taken by C. W. Carter and shows the locomotive at Bingham. Note that the tracks are narrow gauge, which dates the photo between December 1873, when the tracks reached Bingham, and June 1890, when RGW changed them to standard gauge. More about BC&CF and its successors is here:

This photo came from a member of the Bingham Canyon History group on Facebook, and was found by a family member in an abandoned house. The photo itself is actually pasted to a 2-1/2 x 4-1/8 card with a full description on the back. C. W. Carter was a Salt Lake City area commercial photographer. In 1906 he sold his negatives to the LDS Church, and all 934 of those images have been digitized are are available online. This is a new photo, being numbered 939.
