Does anyone have current pictures of the threatened equipment? Thanks!

I must inform our fellow members of an important preservation notice. Reading Steam Power Car #92100 is scheduled to be scrapped by the Long Island Railroad in the coming weeks. Along with the #92100 two ex-B&M "American Flyer" coaches used in MOW service are planned to see the torch as well as three LIRR hacks. This is news coming from the Oyster Bay Railroad Museum. If your party is interested please contact the MTA for additional information at this time.

Are these the hacks?

It has been discovered in recent sources that the coach I was referring to is in fact not the original #92100. The real #92100 was scrapped sometime in 1982 while a B&M Osgood Bradley coach was modified with baggage doors making an almost exact copy. While it's unfortunate it appears this is only one of four such B&M coaches in existence. The three coaches at Dunkirk Yard are scheduled to be scrapped in the coming weeks unless a buyer is found. By the week's end I should have some photos of the equipment to post here.

The equipment slated to be scrapped was sold to the scrap outfit months ago.

That's unfortunate, however I don't think it would have made a great difference even if we knew earlier. You probably know more about these particular cars Chris than I do. They've been rotting out for the past 20 years without care, any restoration effort most likely would've been cost prohibitive especially for our out of state friends. The last B&M coach in Riverhead is stabilized at the moment and awaiting funds for restoration.

One of those hacks appears to be a PRR design steel hack, which was slated for preservation, then allowed to sit on an unprotected siding for years. Sic transit gloria, which I believe means, "Gloria rides a sick transit system".
