This week under the Vintage Rails Restorations banner i started work on this long term goal of mine the refurb of the only surviving complete South park passenger car No 7 or Combine 28 latterly. This will be its first repaint since arriving from Uva Wyoming in 1969. Its an astonishing survival story having been used by the C&S on and off standard gauge trucks for 18 years after its narrow gauge career ended, then replacing a burnt section house in Uva and being found derelict by a ranchers wife who purchased it. Incredibly this week i found original Wells Fargo lettering on the baggage wall overlaid with Adams lettering. It will go back to C&S green with Wells Fargo lettering one side and Adams the other. And before you ask no it wont be going to Como anytime in the near future.

Looks like quite a find, Mike, especially since it's been kept under cover. Should go nicely with car 57.

Would be nice in Como but it’s certainly a lot better for it to be cared here than potentially not somewhere else. Rare piece that’s for sure.

I'll bet it is staying where it is indefinitely, he isn't taking possession, just doing some preservation work for the owner.

Oh. That wasn't very clear in Mike's original post, although the pictures kind of show that. Note that more pictures are posted on Narrow Gauge Discussion.
