Anyone know how long it will take for the Kalmbach Library to be incorporated into the California State Railroad Museum Library in Sacramento? Apparently this move started in 2013. The website says it should be finished by 2016, and it is now 2017.

They have the only known original builders photo of the J&L 58, hence my interest.

According to the latest NMRA Board Minutes (2017 Mid-Year), they are still talking with CSRM.

CSRM has been going through some staff changes during the last year or so. Some caused by retirement and others to move on to other activities, etc.

The State of California within the last couple of months hired a new Librarian from the outside and brought in a new Museum Director from within the State Park system.

I will add that the current NMRA president, Charlie Getz has done significant legal work for CSRM on a pro-bono basis... so the lines of communication are likely open.

I'll pile onto this by saying the former location of the Kalmbach Library was purchased by and now houses the general offices of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. So, there's no chance of the library being relocated back to its original location should the move to CSRM be unsuccessful.
