Post subject:  20th Century Limited to return - briefly - to LaSalle Street

For the first time in 50 years, a piece of the 20th Century Limited will roll into LaSalle Street Station in downtown Chicago.

Headwaters Junction Inc., the entity created to pursue development of a railyard park and roundhouse attraction for Nickel Plate 765 and the collection of the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, has chartered New York Central Pullman observation car "Hickory Creek" for the June 17th and 18th runs of The Joliet Rocket.

The car last operated out of LaSalle Street in 1967.

These trips feature open vestibules, food, refreshment, craft cocktails, a photo runby, a VIP event at LaSalle Street Station and more in an effort to make the event more than just a "train ride."

Meanwhile, Headwaters Junction continues to make progress in Fort Wayne:
