Hope someone could help us on this. We're working on finding missing parts on our locomotive. We have the automatic brake valve handle, but we are missing our independent brake valve handle. Does anyone know where we can get a handle? I watch eBay religiously. I appreciate any help y'all can offer.

Assuming some sympathetic museum out there doesn't have a spare, Multi Service Supply may have an S-6 handle. They sell and service 6ET and 14EL components. Strasburg R.R. and Pittsburgh Air Brake also deal with 6ET and other older systems.

I don't have the part number in front of me but the same handle is used on the independent valve of 14EL equipment and some valves on older test racks.

For my traction friends out there, Multi-Service also sells and services certain valves also used on traction equipment such as E-1 safety valves, S-16-C compressor governors, M-3 feed valves, M-3-A reducing valves, SA-2 independent valves, various strainers, etc.

Gord,

Thanks for the information! I was unaware of these guys. This will also prove useful when dealing with gettingbthe brake valves reconditioned and recertified.

Multi Serv did a great job on our 14L brake system on our 44 tonner last year, even helped a novice diagnose and replace one faulty feed valve.

Best thing that they did was send us rebuilt valves ahead of time so I could swap everything one at a time and then send the cores back to them.
