Moe Mechling has passed.

Narrow gauge modeler, draftsman and two footer fan extraordinaire has passed. Moe was most seen in recent years at Th WW&F restoration RY project doing what he could to document the effort.

Look up Moe's name on the net and you will see some of his NMRA posted engineering on turnouts, stub and point switches and turnouts.

I have not seen any mention of Moes passing other than a letter I received mid last week (May 1st or 2nd) informing of the news.

Moe will be greatly missed!

If anyone sees an obituary please post the link.

Moe was a great friend who shared lots of good stories while visiting the WW&F during work weekends and whenever else he could make the trip.

Some of my best memories from those times were his stories from when he was working in the steel mills and the work he did there. He was a real "doer" for sure- and was proud of his work.

We also talked of great musicians and great musical performances- just about everything was interesting to Moe. Even in his later years, he always had energy for a good conversation and to share something with someone he'd just met. The first time he met my wife, in the kitchen at the WW&F, he wrote out a recipe for his homemade baked beans from memory.

We'll miss him and I hope I can remember all of the great stories he shared.

I've posted the link to his obituary below:
