Post subject:  VIA RDCs Return to Windsor

VIA Rail this week surprised the few of us in the Upper Great Lakes region, by bringing back 3, yes... 3 Budd RDC (Rail Diesel Cars), for service this week in the Windsor, Ontario area. The consist consists of RDC-4 #6257 (ex-CN), RDC-2 #6208, and RDC-1 #6105 (ex-CN). They will be in-service for the next 2 days until Thursday. They are working a 4 mile stretch from the station in Windsor, to WFCU Arena, teaching schoolkids about railroad safety. This is the first time these cars have been called to passenger duty in sometime (they were tested by VIA last year for possible return to service in the Windsor-Chatham Corridor). Here's a snap shot of their first run this morning. This is a big win for the Preservation Community as many are currently being cut-up for scrap.
