Last week (7/25/17), car shop crews at National Capital Trolley Museum oiled, greased, and lubricated final components of Third Avenue Railway System (TARS) 678's trucks, following an extensive rebuild of the traction motors. Then, crews rolled the trucks under the car for the first time since they were removed in the summer of 2016. Work on the car is nearing completion; if all goes as planned, TARS 678 will return to service in time for the September Cavalcade of Street Cars, if not before then. — Stay tuned to our page National Capital Trolley Museum for official updates and announcements.
