Post subject:  An Old Locomotive, Rediscovered

This morning, while working with Google Earth Pro, I found the location of Humberstone 0-6-2T No. 11 in Humberstone, Chile and set about adding a map and satellite view for the locomotive. While using Google Street View to look around the area at ground level, I discovered a second locomotive, which proved to be Humberstone 0-4-0T No. 8. There's more to the story at https://steaminfo.wordpress.com/2017/08/06/a-happy-discovery/

I just had a look at the entry for the Humberstone 0-4-0ST on your website, and it looks rather like the 1889 Fowler "FCS No.8" five entries below that one, described as being at Iquique.

It's even got the same pair of holes in the saddle tank and the remains of the painted crest on the cabside......................

Just to add to the confusion a bit more, on looking at the "Humberstone #11" photo, I would suggest that it is the very same loco listed as "FLCN 1035", also shown as being at Iquique !
It looks a bit too "Germanic" to be a Bagnall product and appears to have the same graffiti (?) on the side tanks and a leaning, partially detatched steamdome cover...

I'm a truly glad there are people with better eyes than me out there. I will do my best to straighten this out today.

Excellent, excellent catch 70000! Both the photos in question were of the Humberstone locomotives, and not of the indicated locomotives in Iquique. The incorrect photos have been removed.

Well, apart from that, it made me give your website a closer study and was able to provide a couple of photos of Australian locos you hadn't got pictures of into the bargain !!

(some Polish narrow-gauge ones on the way as well....)
