I get that now, but the opening title said that, the main text would rule out people like Ross and others.

so maybe somebody can create some kennedy honors something for those guys

We welcome your nominations, either posted here or to me at aaronmona@aol.com

Aaron Isaacs, awards committee chairman
HeritageRail Alliance

Instead of having a single award, what about giving multiple awards - lets say "50 most influential for 2017" - and repeating that for following years?

Right now there are many people who have served their organizations for multiple decades and recognizing them would help in recording the history of the preservation movement. Demographic realities being what they are, this opportunity won't be available 5-10 years from now.

Tim Schandel, Curator of the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. He just hit his 40 year mark with the LSRM/NSSR and is only 60. Fantastic guy and one of the most knowledgeable GN/NP/CNW/DMIR/etc guys you will find. He has played a vital role in the LSRM becoming one of the best railroad museums in the country.

I second the nomination for Tim Schandel.
