Every so often, you find what appears to be a jewel of rail preservation, something you didn't know about, but which apparently somebody cares about. This is one example at the Canfield Fairgrounds, Canfield, Oh.

Some other photos by Bob McGilvray Jr. on Flicker; it's amazing to me what is at this site, and the condition it's in, clearly well cared for.

-Obviously some pride in the heritage of that equipment. The woodwork looks great, the steel shows minimal deterioration, and everything is well painted. The presence of a weather shed makes all the difference in the world.

The Mahoning Valley Railroad Heritage Assoc. is responsible for caring for this locomotive. It was donated in the 1960s by YS&T, sat at the Ohio Edison Niles Generating plant until 1985 when it was brought down the Erie Niles Lisbon Branch to Canfield, then trucked to the fairgrounds. The shelter went up about 12 to 15 years ago and has been a great help in keeping the locomotive in good shape.

What does the PRR switcher have to do with the one on display in Canfield, Ohio?

They are not the same locomotive.
