Post subject:  Pyle National 5 wire junction box

Hi All

I am looking for information on a Pyle National 5 wire junction box and a fuse box so I can model them in 1/8 scale. Detailed pictures, measurements, drawings would work.

Thanks

Tim

Here's the catalogue drawing from Catalogue 210. LTDD2125 is the five wire version. Same box.

Thanks. That is a great help.

Do you know if they used the same box for a fuse box?

Thanks

Tim

There were several types of fuse boxes, but non the same size as the TLDD. The nearest thing is the PF 3-pole fuse box and the FTB fuse and terminal box. Both are larger height and width and have different hub sizes/locations.

Thanks for the information.

Here is the best picture I have of the one I am trying to model.

Tim - Are you sure it's 5 terminal box? The engine pic looks more like a TCAC-3312 or -2212 with hubs A,C,L, & R used.

Hi

I was going by what the bill of materials called out. But I am sure you are correct.

Thanks

Tim - If you have a BOM from the engine builder or RR, that's likely what was on the engine - at least as original equipment.

I suggested the TCAC-3312 because in the engine picture it looks more rectangular to me, the cover and top hub look more like the TCAC illustration in the catalogue, and the installation fits the TCAC stock configurations.

Of course the TCAC-3312 is also a standard 12-wire box, which is unnecessary for the pictured installation, and I missed a page in the catalogue. It now appears that it was a STBC-335, which is basically a TCAC box with a LTDD-style screw terminal block. The STBC-335 is the same size as the TCAC-3312 and is a 5 wire box, so I'd say that's it unless there's something different in a catalogue closer to your engine's build date.

I also noticed that your original color pics are of two different boxes - the lower (open box) would be a modified LTDD, the upper (closed box) looks like a LTB.

If you're going to this level of detail on a model I'd like to see a picture when it's done someday...

Hi

Yes I am going to try to get the details correct. Here is a picture of my pedestal binders. They are cast in steel. Do to maintenance issues down the road I am not doing the Franklin wedges.

Here is a picture of the TCAC-2212 lid. Let me know what you think

Thanks
