Can anyone explain the relationship between Stearnes Manufacturing Co., Erie City Iron Works, and Heisler Locomotive Co. I know both Stearnes and Erie City built engines for Heisler, but did Heisler do any actual construction, or did they only do engineering?

In 1894 the Stearns Manufacturing Co of Erie, Penn began producing “Heislers”
Production continued on by Stearns until 1904. With a “Panic” in the financial reorganizations, Stearns disappeared from the scene and was reorganized as the Heisler Locomotive works. The boilers, cabs, water and oil tanks and coal bunkers for Heisler were made by the Union Iron Works which also built the boilers for Climax.
