I heard somewhere the only big problem with the NS Executive F-Units was short range with regards to fuel. Can't confirm but would imagine the engine swaps over the years might be related. Should the Canadian PB somehow get the A1A DL500 trucks (a stretch I know) would the extra space allow the unit to operate longer distances between fuel stops while still "looking right"?
