Post subject:  Edaville's Old Henschel
Now I'm not sure who here would remember, but years ago Edaville had an old Henschel on display (No. 6) that eventually ended up at the Beaver Brook Museum in New Hampshire. Now the museum obviously since closed, but what happened to that Henschel? Is it still up there? I guess the same question could be levied against the other locomotives up there, because they were still there as of 2012 if this video on Youtube is any indicator;

Obviously that one must've come over with the dozens of other German narrow gauge engines that keep cropping up, but beyond the number that Edaville threw on it I've got nothing... No builder's info, no history, nothing. Am I missing something? Is there a list somewhere of the imported German engines?

Here is a list courtesy of Steamlocomotive.com . The only #6 listed is at Boothbay and doesn't sound like the one in question.

Well she's defintely not on that list... That's decidedly annoying. I know under New Hampshire she's listed along with three other tank engines supposedly at Beaver Brook;

Greetings:
Henschel c/n 23036 was still stored at Beaver Brook as of last year when I visited.
Full specifications, etc. can be found in "The Steam locomotive Directory of North America", volume 1, page 78.
I would note that the other "locomotives" listed there by some folks are not locomotives at all, just non-operational assemblages of non-locomotive parts assembled to resemble locomotives (a most creative way to expand your roster).

I found a shot of Edaville's Henschel at Beaver Brook Farm Museum, taken on 12/19/2004 by Matt Cosgro. The photo was on NeRail Photos. Maybe the photo will help to pin down where the locomotive is today?

Well if J.David is reporting c/n 23036, AKA 'Weimar' (really love that name, I'm using it from now on) as still in Mt. Vernon a year ago, I'd think the chances are good that she's still there... Well, I've got to go to the post office tomorrow anyway. Never hurts to shoot the Beaver Brook folks a letter.

The former Edaville 36 "Weimar" is Henschel & Sohn C/N 23036 in 1936 for Gruen & Bilfinger AG at Manheim, Germany. 0-4-0ST 60cm gauge

Jack Flagg had her at Edaville in the 1980s until about 2000. If it now in New Hampshire it is a good thing as I have lost track of it!

Ted, you might know this, but where'd the Weimar name come from? Did Jack put that name on it, or did it already have it by the time he got his hands on it?

Why is there an assumption that the locomotive in question is not at Beaver Brook? Does that site still exist about like it did in the 2012 timeframe of the video in the first post here? The locomotive is shown in that video.

It's not so much an assumption that Weimar isn't there, but until this I posed the question I could find little information on the locomotive itself. That video was the most recent documentation that I could find on it's presence at Beaver Brook, and a lot can change in five years. That link that PMC posted has the most recent documentation that Weimar is still there (Although it's absolutely filthy. Honestly remind's me of my grandfather's old collection of construction equipment).

Weimar is here on our railroad along with the other Beaver Brook Plymouths
