Quote:
In 2004, UTA received 29 high-floor light rail vehicles built by Urban Transportation Development Corporation (UTDC) in 1987 for Santa Clara Valley Transit Authority (VTA). There were a total of 50 UTDC cars used by VTA, which retired the cars in 2003. UTA planned to refurbish these 29 cars and operate them numbered as UTA 1041-1069.

Perhaps if a trolley museum is looking for a new piece UTA Trax is auctioning off these former VTA cars. Don’t think they ever saw service under UTA

Is there any significant history about these cars?

This will be a hard sell.

These were built in Canada by what was effectively an offshoot of the Toronto Transit Commission. The only systems that had these were VTA, and secondhand UTA and Sacramento. They are high-floor cars, which means the only systems that would have an interest have to have loading ramps like Baltimore's.

I will leave it to the geeks to tell us if parts are compatible with other LRVs of the era.
