Model board from a former Conrail, Penn Central, originally Pennsylvania railroad tower in Washington DC semi restored, wired with many bulbs. It look okish
It's free and a cool artifact with a good provenance. Will consider donation to other organizations out of the area

Hello Bobulltech, I would be interested in seeing some photos before making further inquiries. The Railroad Museum of Long Island would always be in a position to receive any Pennsy related artifacts.

Is this the model board from Virginia Tower? Or perhaps the one from the Anacostia River bridge tower? One would hope that a home closer to DC could be found for it. Perhaps the Bowie, MD railroad museum? Anyone from DC NRHS on here who could look into this?

Bowie makes sense since they have a preserved tower. I will look for current contact information.

It is the first one
It's huge, heavy and unfortunately a giant white elephant who's days seem to be numbered

I would like to keep it in the area if possible, it quite literally has my blood in it

It might be a good fit for the Conrail Historical Society's collection.

Now that I know it's Virginia Ave, I'll alert the troops.

I (and probably more than a few fans in the DC area) had the opportunity to spend time in Virginia Tower when Mark Kaplan was an operator there in the late 70's and 80's (I'm not telling any tales out of school, Mark left the railroad probably over 20 years ago now). For anyone not familiar with the area, Virginia (Av.) Tower controlled the interlocking that accesses the South end of Washington Terminal, where trains to and from Union Station leave the line over the Potomac and enter and exit the First Street (NE) tunnel.
