What is the status of the NKP 624 Mikado that the Fort Wayne Historically Society planned on or did move? I have been unable to find any info and the last time anything was posed was in 2017. Where is she currently? Is she at or around theFort Wayne shop with 765? I am just curious of the current whereabouts of this loco. Thanks!

What I do know is that it's not at the Fort Wayne shops with 765. It's still, AFAIK, at a mystery location. That information is for Kelly Lynch and the Ft. Wayne crew to disseminate as they and the mystery person see fit. Otherwise, it's a...well...mystery.

As I understand it, the 624 is currently in Wabash where the restoration work will be done.

Hardly a mystery when we have an entire page dedicated to it:

https://fortwaynerailroad.org/nickel-plate-road-no-624/

There have been two pretty big updates on two operational or nearly operational Nickel Plate engines under our care in the last two weeks and the 624’s time will come. We leave the smaller project updates to our monthly email updates for members and the bi-annual newsletters if you’re interested in the half dozen railroad preservation projects we’re working on: https://fortwaynerailroad.org/become-a-member/

624 should be making a cameo in an upcoming video update, too.
