I've come to know in recent revelations the increasing cost of museum memberships. There have been previous threads addressing this matter but I'd like to address this from a youth perspective. I love working with preservation groups, helping museums around my area but when it costs me a boatload to just get through my average college year why would I want to spend 50 in some cases almost $60 on an annual due. Some operations particularly those based on young volunteers have reduced rates to compensate for this, what does your organization offer in return? Can a solution be met half-way? |

The Wilmington & Western has an annual membership fee of $35 but it is reduced to $20 for those who are under 18 years of age. |

Our student membership has been $7.50/year since forever. It's likely to go up a bit soon, though. Even at $7.50, I'm not aware of many student members. Orrville/Wayne County, OH and environs is mostly rural so membership is always a bit of a struggle. |
