Does anyone know the location or final disposition of this diesel? I had seen a builders plate offered for sale from it but I think that plate had the wrong serial number. I think this was the power for my home town branch line that was abandoned in 1980. It then went to DME under same number and I think I saw a picture of it in Regional Railroads of the Midwest in for repairs in 1995. Somewhere later I saw it listed as retired. |

According to UtahRails, the build date for CNW SD9 #6611 is Oct 1955, not 1953. I don't think SD9 construction even started until early 1954, when the switch over to the new 567C equipped model line was made for several EMD lines. |

Thank you all very much. I am not so good about computers, passwords, and navigating lists yet but was thrilled to learn what I did today. I had not seen the new owners reply on other list even. The amount of knowledge of people and relative ease of access to it is a good thing in these cases. |
