I have written a page to help track where the many cars that the circus formerly owned have headed, you should be able to access the page by clicking the link below.

http://passcarphotos.info/RBBX%20Car%20Dispositions.htm

If you can help identify other cars that still need dispositions you can email me at the address listed at the top of the page. Hopefully we will all yet be able to identify all of the cars' new homes!!!

I have learned that cars formerly listed as going to Crossroads Railcar in Stearns, Ky., are cars that have been acquired by Passenger Railcar Services Corp., a.k.a. Paxxrail, and I have made this change in the file to reflect the correction. The update has been posted.

Former UP No. 5902 was a "RBX" car from 1989-1992. It became MARC No. 199 and is now at the B&O Railroad Museum.

For those following along at home, here is a photo of MARC 199:

This car was used in stationary service for many years at Camden Station.

Yep. Never assigned a RBX number though... was traded to MARC for several disc wheel sets 2/5/92. Need to update my history of the car as being MARC at the Index...

Interesting. What is your source for the trade you mentioned in 1992?

Don Strack's Utah Rails website... UP passenger car roster...

http://utahrails.net/pass/pass-numbered-7.php

"UP 5902 was renumbered to UP 903684 in 1973; sold to Ringling Bros., in 1989, used as parts source; traded to MARC (Maryland Railroad Commuter) for parts in May 1992; refurbished and painted as MARC 199, located at Camden Yards, used as on-track storage."

They need to be checking info against what I have presented. A good example are the cars listed as Crossroads Railcar are cars actually acquired by Paxrail (this confirmed by Paxrail's owner). A few cars have info that helps to fill out what I have but I need to update the page once again with most of what they have I also have.

Did the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, MI purchase a car?

May have but I haven't seen any statement to that effect as of yet. Have a few more Paxrail cars to add and I hope to get that done later today and there are two cars that went to Kirby Family Farms that will be leaving in the near future for other dispositions, still awaiting the info on what cars and where they are going... still a number of cars unaccounted for and some that I have info on that supposedly have gone to the Florida RR Museum back in 2012 but have not seen any other reports of this actually happening.

16 cars and a flatcar with a couple of circus wagons went to Kirby. They just completed the laborious task of crane lifting all 17 cars, plus a former Navy diesel locomotive onto a purpose built display track. It was truly a show to watch.

The two additional cars you mentioned will be going to the Two Tails Ranch (elephant sanctuary) just north of the same town where Kirby's Farm is located. This operation was founded by the elephant trainer who was killed in the 1994 wreck.
