The HeritageRail Alliance is taking nominations for its annual awards, to be presented at the Fall Conference in Santa Fe, MN on Saturday, November 10. The categories are: Significant Achievement Award: These are generally equipment restorations, building restorations or other large capital projects or groups of projects completed in the last 12 months. Multiple awards will be given. Lifetime Achievement Award: Given to persons whose long service to railway preservation really made a difference. Friend of Railway Preservation Award: Given to a person or organization not associated with a particular tourist railroad or museum, who went above and beyond to assist railway preservation. William Purdie Award: Given to a person who has mentored or otherwise worked with young people to involve them in railway preservation.
