I’m looking to possibly move a railcar by road to our museum. I’ve asked for few quotes so far. Dose anyone have any recommendations for good trucking companies on the West Coast that have moved railcars in the past?

Thanks
Ryan

What kind of a car is it? Where's it located? Where is it going to? These questions would all need to be answered before I could give you any recommendations.

Some years ago, our RR society shipped a Pullman from Santa Barbara to Ventura, a trip of about 60 miles. It cost about 5K. Last year we shipped a 23 ton switch engine from the Bay Area to Ventura for about the same cost.
I hope this helps.

Do you know the name of the company that did these moves?

You might contact Taylor Heavy Hauling in Antelope.

I understand CSRM has used Harley Murray in Stockton. Also Bragg Heavy Hauling in Stockton does railcars.

Depending on the situation, it would probably be lots cheaper if there is a backhaul involved. Deadheading a tow rig can be expensive.
