But should have. Those tie-down rods are what keeps the stove from tipping over and burning the car down in the event of a severe slack run. Provision for the rods is the spotting feature of a caboose stove.

Never got around to putting them in. the holes are there in the floor. stove is otherwise secured to the floor in the four corners and bolted together at each joint. if the ash pan is the worst thing I can be fabricated by your local sheet metal shop. most I have seen are long rotted thru because when the hood over the end of the pipe rots off, water collects in the ash pan.
