NJT is still running some of the 1968 GP40P's that have been rebuilt a few times and were last in passenger service as GP40PH-2 motors. They are now GP40H-2. The "P" in 1968 meant a steam generator; one of the rebuilds converted them to HEP.

NJT has gone in for heritage units and has painted ALP-46A electric locomotive 4636 in PRR pinstripes and Tuscan Red, ALP-46DP Dual Mode 4519 in Erie Lackawanna grey, red and yellow.

For a CNJ unit they picked GP40H-2 4109, an original 1968 CNJ unit, painting it in its 1968 blue and yellow paint scheme with the Miss Liberty herald on the nose.

Here's the TrainsMag Newswire from 10-8-2019. No NJT news release yet.

Thanks, Paul.

NJT did use EL E8's on the former Erie Suffern and Port Jervis trains.

In the Railway Age article, the GP7 painted Deep Sea Green and Gold and lettered as CNJ 1524 is the actual CNJ 1524 which was delivered in that paint scheme.

One of two URHS owned locomotives to make a guest appearance at the event. The other being the NJ DOT painted E8 unit.

I believe the Army flat cars do have 6-wheel roller bearing trucks.

I also believe they were built to move M48 and M60 tanks; the M1A1 tank is heavier and has its own fleet of flat cars. Amtrak got them as Army Surplus.

Electronic traction? That's a new one. Try Electric Traction if they're Tower Cars. They would be used to maintain the overhead wire.
