Found a picture of the U.S.Plywood Corp. #11 on the web. I would like to know if the tank car is a tender of sorts? Anyone know the history of the loco and tender? She looks like an interesting locomotive and well cared for. Would make an interesting operating exhibit on a steam tourist line with a logging theme.https://www.flickr.com/photos/larrymyhre/11438830145

Yes, it is a tender, a conversion from a tank car--and No. 11 is a former 2-6-6-2T as well.

You might be interested in this link, which has, among other things, her service history and previous owners, along with illustrations and photos of how the engine's appearance changed over the years.

The tank car is a true tender with both oil and water compartments. I rode her out of the University of Washington and ran her several times.

Gentlemen, Thank you for the links and information. I am curious as to how the tank car was configured to have compartments for oil and water? What type of tank car was used?

It is an ex-Great Northern tank car. Plates were welded in to create an oil bunker in the top half of the tank about ten or twelve feet long. It also still has the oil tank behind the cab. The remaing portions of the side tanks were filled with scrap.

The tank car is actually a former California Dispatch Lines/CDLX tank car. Some of the original lettering was found when repainting the tank.
