Hello all,

I recently noticed that the Catskill Mountain Railroad and the Empire State Railroad Museum looked like they were connected by rail due to their close proximity to each other. On further investigation, it looks like a bridge connecting the two railroads has collapsed. Has the bridge been repaired so that the two can reach each other? I'm asking because in 2016 LS&I 23 was moved there, was it by truck?

Thanks, Connor.

Unfortunately, from what I can tell the plan to reconnect the 2 railroads from Kingston to Phoenicia has been stopped because Ulster County NY is very interested in creating a rail trail about 17 miles long. I don’t know the details but I’m sure someone else knows.

This has been discussed extensively over the last couple years. Just use the search function and "Catskill Mountain" and the threads will pop up. I'd post links but I'm on my tablet and copy/paste is kinda clunky.
