Peripheral topic on restoration. Many of us have read about the model train show raided by vandals in England this past week. Three underage kids systematically destroyed every model and exhibit they could find at a model train show, many antiques, all without duplicates. The kids were caught and face charges, but what's really important is what happened afterwards. R&R singer Rod Stewart and several others, including Roger Daltry (of The Who), have come forward to help compensate and rebuild the lost trains. It will never replace the years and labor, but it shows that decency exists in the rail heritage fraternity. Read the article and share. Excellent to hear of so many stepping up to help. I just hope and pray the justice system over here doesn't just let these little hooligans off with a slap on the wrist. Hold them and their parents accountable for once. Make an example out of them, and how this behavior will not be tollerated. Mike |
