Illinois Central #333, a 1918 0-6-0 left the permanently closed Tioga Heritage Museum, in Tioga, Louisiana headed for what is supposed to be a complete rebuilding for a new tourist railroad. #333 had been at one time the depot switcher in Jackson, LA, so I am told, and was donated by the IC to the Louisiana Arts and Sciences center at the old Yazoo and Mississippi Valley depot in downtown Baton Rouge. When the railroad equipment there was disposed of it went to the Tioga museum supposedly to represent a "typical Louisiana logging train" where it was on display with a steel IC caboose.

Pictures on facebook are here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1904905 ... 7192135727

Lets all hope for a better future for one of the few remaining IC steamers.

Facebook is not the internet!

So people like me who are not part of this ... can not see your link.

Here is the engine in a real public album:

Wasn't there an ICRR 0-6-0 at Stone Mountain, Georgia back in the 1970s? I seem to recall some sort of IC steam switcher on a visit to see and ride behind one of Stone Mountain' former SP 4-4-0s. This memory may be in error. ~Bill Shippen

Bill SRG -

Dave is right about the Illinois Central engine at Stone Mountain being an 0-8-0, rather than an 0-6-0. The locomotive was ICRR # 3525 and, as I understand it, she ran a trip over the Stone Mountain trackage and damaged (or broke) some of the light rails due to her weight, and that was the end of that idea! She ended up at the railroad museum in Spencer, North Carolina and eventually replaced Southern 2-8-0 # 154 in Chilhowee Park in Knoxville, Tennessee, painted up as SR # 1894.

Still waiting to hear the story on ICRR 0-6-0 # 333 as to where in Ohio she has gone, and what the future plans are for her.

Nothing on the local grapevine that I’ve heard. I’m curious, also.

Has the locomotive arrived at her new home? And which railroad is it?

NCTM got Southern 542 from Tanglewood in exchange for the IC 0-8-0.

So true as a fact, but so incorrect in that how many others see the internet.
"I'm only gonna post there where people have to join up to get to see it," is a silly thing to think unless you wanna get money for your content.

Seems this topic has died for some time. Might worth bringing it back up? Does anyone know anything about this engine and where it is or how far along it is?

All that I know is that the 333 has moved to an unknown location in Ohio, but not Age of Steam. The purchaser was apparently very hush hush about it when he bought it, and we have heard nothing more in Louisiana about it at all.

First, we get the news about ICRR # 333 being "moved to unknown location in Ohio" and now on another thread we find out that EBT # 3 has been sold to "a party in Florida". Seems like it's the season for mysterious standard gauge 0-6-0 moves!
