There's a good Mike Eagleson photo of one of those Y6's in Ziel and Foster's book, "Steam in the Sixties". It was a significant loss.

Interesting that the TRAINS article says the FT-B is going back to Roanoke whereas others have said St. Louis gets to keep it.

Then again they also called it a demonstrator which it was not. (St. Louis's FT-A *is* the last remaining component of the four unit demonstrator. Roanoke's FT-B is a random FT-B that survived after being turned into a boiler car.)

Years ago (1986) there were 3 FT-B's in the yard in Macon, GA. I saw them while driving from Ft Stewart back to Ft Benning. They were all converted to scale cars. Wonder what happened to them?
Also, I noted from another site that NS is getting ready to return 2156 to St. Louis.

Roanoke Chapter NRHS has shifted the equipment and moved 2156 to provide easy access to NS to move it out to go to Shaffers. That was accomplished on Saturday the 23rd

As of Friday afternoon about 4:30, 2156 was still in place at VMT.

The agreement five years ago was between NS and MOT, not VMT.
