Kirby Family Farms of Williston, FL have successfully acquired another of the former Six Gun Territory locomotives to join their growing fleet. This locomotive is a standard gauge 2-6-0 which was on static display in the park during its operation. When Six Gun shut down it was moved to the Iron Horse Restaurant in Gainesville, FL. After that it was in the hands of a private collector who kept it squirreled away in a barn in Ohio away from public view for almost the last 30 years.

Not only is the locomotive special due to its connection to the former Six Gun Territory theme park, there's the pure rarity of the engine. Built in 1925 by the Glover Machine Works of Georgia the locomotive is one of only 7 such locomotives left in the world from this seldom seen locomotive builder. This will also be Kirby Farms first standard gauge steam engine having previously acquired a small stable of standard gauge diesel engines.

The locomotive will join two other Six Gun Territory locomotives those beings the 36" gauge Crown built 4-4-0's which operated on the former parks railroad.

The Glover will be on public display August 1st while its being moved at the Civil War and Locomotive Museum in Kennesaw, GA before completing its journey to Florida.

The loco recently surfaced for sale on Facebook Marketplace with an asking price of $49,000.

I think it looked much better with the steel cab.
Just my personal opinion though.....

No. The ad was written and photographed in such a manner that it appeared the whole train came together but the caboose was sold to another party. Which Kirby Farms was completely fine with since it has no connection to Florida or any amusement park service.
