Regarding this thread from the classified section: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=43173&p=289306&hilit=Tukwila#p289306

The ex-GN coach was won at auction and moved onto home rails by the Peninsular Railway and Lumbermen's Museum on the old Simpson's Lumber operation in Washington https://www.facebook.com/PeninsularRail ... =3&theater (the classifieds post has a follow up by o anderson that says the GN caboose went to the City of Tenino, WA for display at a depot museum, I haven't heard anything about the SP&S caboose). There has been some commentary about the unorthodox method of unloading this car on different pages on facebook, especially the cribbing and forklift, as such:

Turns out the SP&S bay window caboose was saved too, that is a remarkable 3 for 3 saved, especially given the modifications they all endured.

So where did the SP&S caboose go? Country Village was its third location that I know of.

It's great that the Tenino museum is getting any manner of rolling stock. The depot was moved away from the 2-track north/south main, to a spot along the "Prairie Line" next to the quarry which is now a city park.
Sadly, there was a tiny piece of the original track from the line up through Yelm and Roy which met the NP main at Tenino, but it was ripped out very recently when the trail was extended past the depot. But they laid another panel of track next to the roadbed, I now assume for this hack (or something else to place there).
Anyone know when the hack will be in place at Tenino?
As for the coach, I'm glad to see the Shelton group is finally getting something they can use. I've heard it all third-hand but three passenger cars are sitting down in Chehalis and what I've heard was someone bought them with the intention of having the group restore them on their dime to use on the trains once they start running. That didn't go over like the owner hoped and they just sit near the depot/museum at Chehalis to this day...

There is no rolling stock at the depot museum in Chehalis, WA. There is one car at the Chehalis Centralia RR that may be intended for the Simpson Railroad.

It hasn't been announced yet, though if you notice it is the same crew moving the SP&S caboose that were moving the GN passenger car, it could be that the Peninsular Railway and Lumbermen's Museum operation has them both. There are another two GN cars in Pullman WA that are being offered for free as long as one takes everything (i.e., you can't just take the couplers and drawbars), it has occurred to me that the same conditions could have applied with this coach and caboose.

Near is the word I used and yes, there are three passenger cars sitting on the old MILW within sight of the old depot in Chehalis, along the BNSF/UP/AMTK main. At least there were as of this past weekend, anyway.

The SP&S caboose went to a private owner's private property. It's in good hands.

Seats: "5500 lbs. That is the difference between a coach with seats and a coach without. 29 seat frames along with all the backs and cushions. Along with one previously acquired, that means we have 30 seats to restore and install into the coach. 60 people. That will be the number of passengers we can comfortably load into the car ... Special thanks to the Skagit River Railroad for holding on to these seats for the past 40+ years. They are appropriate vintage for the BN coach recently delivered to the railroad. We still need to acquire couplers and draft gear (which we have a line on, thanks to our Facebook followers) and move forward with other remedial processes." https://www.facebook.com/PeninsularRail ... -0jtP9es83

Did the seats come out of the Milwaukee coach that was at Concrete, WA? Just curious.
