Beautifully painted 40' single door steel boxcar LV #62300 recently arrived at the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum in Henrietta, New York. Car was built in July of 1947. A very nice addition to the R&GV roster!

Beat me to it!

Lehigh Valley 62300 was safely delivered to the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum on Friday, September 13.

Pullman Standard introduced the PS-1 boxcar in 1947, and the Lehigh Valley was the first to order a block of 500 in 1947 (Lot 5873), numbered 62000 through 62499. A second batch arrived in 1950 (Lot 5970), numbered 62500 through 62999. In total, Pullman-Standard built 77,570 PS-1 boxcars for railroads across the country. Our boxcar 62300 is from the first batch of production for the Lehigh Valley, and the first production run of PS-1 boxcars ever.

We are excited to couple up 62330 with our LV RS3m 211 and caboose 95100 to create a complete Lehigh Valley freight train!
