Note on the Ahead Of The Torch website that the Niagara Railway Museum in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada has acquired Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo carpenter's wood box car number X759 and is trying to raise funds to move it to their museum site. The car obviously was converted from an old single sheathed (outside braced) wood boxcar and much of the inside is reportedly still as it appeared when in company service.

The car is in fairly decent condition, but will benefit from being inside, out of the weather, more or less. The car is no longer yellow. THe original picture was taken as it was going to be scrapped, just prior to being saved. The entire car history can be found on our website at:

The owners used the car for storage, and the interior was filled with junk, i'm sorry, "antiques". I've attached an interior pic of the sleeping bunks. All 4 are still mounted to the wall, but you can see the stuff piled up inside. The wood ceiling will need to be replaced. There was a lot of junk around he car that needed to be moved before the car can be moved. Hopefully the interior will be cleaned out and some new pics can be taken.
