No time to waste. Railway & Industrial Services Incorporated has shut down in Joliet. They will shortly be scrapping their DE40 locomotive cranes. They are in excellent condition .This is a very rare opportunity to get a very good Boom for your crane ,traction Motors ,671 Detroit, very hard to get worm gear boxes ,call now go to classifieds for more details. Don't pass up this opportunity . We didn't ,we'll be picking up our parts this weekend.

On a Google Earth image taken several years ago I could see about 5 Industrial Brownhoist cranes at that yard. Do you know the identity of the others?

hi John,
I got the information from the list you gave me they've had quite a few during their history several they bought brand new it looks like the name is change one time but it was still pretty similar to the last name of the company. They started with a steam crane in the late '30s and they bought several of them in the '40s diesel Mechanicals . We are stripping a model 30 ,I don't have the serial number at hand right now but I'll get it for you later.

Hey John T,
The serial number of the crane that we took the boom off of and are stripping for parts is 12197.
The owners thought this was a model DE30 but your list shows it as a model DE40. So far I cannot tell the difference between them. Maybe if I have time I'll measure them up and see how they compare. I'm sure a manual of both models would show the difference.
