PMC, the list has been searched, but we have nothing from the locomotive itself or its verbal history, to tie it to a specific DL in the list. The story going back in time seems to end at Old Vegas, although one suggestion is Monolith mine near Tehachapi, California. They did have a similar DL on their roster but nothing yet to confirm a link, keeping in mind hundreds of DL's were produced with many on the west coast.

To add to what Brian Norden wrote on October 27, 2020, the Shay that was at the Gold Strike casino is now (since 2015) at Kip's Korner Feed store in Tumwater, Washington, displayed near a former D&RGW narrow gauge caboose.

I can confirm that shay is still there in Tumwater, very slowly being put back together. Parts are scattered all over the place in the back of the facility, and you can just walk right up to it and the caboose (a replica but very well made).
