RDG did so well with the Rambles because the railroad was the sponsor.

In one case they were planning to leave the train on the Main Track at Hershey for two hours while the engine ran lite to Rutherford for coal and water, then returned to the train. Hershey Park is right next to the tracks at Hershey Station; in fact their little electric shuttle train went from the station into the Park. Admission was free and rides were pay as you go in Ramble days.

Trouble was there was an important symbol freight going West. Not a problem; yardmasters were told to ensure this train got onto the Lebanon Valley Branch ahead of the Ramble, and it did.
