No, I showed her that there were federal regulations and inspections and our documentation demonstrating compliance which she gratefully used as a great reason to avoid having to deal with an unfamiliar and potentially time consuming task. I think many regulators of other things have equally little interest in doing things they haven't been trained to do. Of course some inspectors might be looking for a reason to create issues and the attitude and cooperation of the institution being regulated can make a big difference. I would not be surprised that in different circumstances it could end up differently. |
