The N-C-0 historical Society has added a box car to their indoor facility.

The N-C-O #518 wood box car is a former Florence & Cripple Creek car. Is there a published roster of locomotives and freight cars for the N-C-O or the Florence and Cripple Creek?

I do have the Western Railroader article on the N-C-O in 1966.

As you have reported elsewhere you have found the best available roster of the F&CC in the book Florence & Cripple Creek R.R.: Colorado Rail Annual No. 13.

Me thinks it stands for Nevada-California-Oregon, a narrow gauge railway.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nevada%E2 ... on_Railway It later was bought by Southern Pacific, standard gauged, and became the SP Modoc route, most of which has been abandoned. Quite a lot of the narrow gauge equipment remains, as it was transferred to other SP narrow gauge lines, including three (I believe) steamers and at least ten freight cars. Here is the car they just acquired, plus a passenger car they acquired earlier..

Here is the link to its website: Nevada-California-Oregon

The narrow-gauge railroad ran from Reno, Nevada to Lakeview, Oregon a total of 238 miles. The line was completed in 1912 with aspirations of building further north in Oregon. In 1915 it bought two locomotives, five passenger cars and 78 freight cars from the Florence & Cripple Creek. Then in 1917 it sold its southern 64 miles to the Western Pacific instead of being paralleled by the standard-gauge railroad (and used the money to retire bonds).

As noted above in the late 1920s the SP acquired control of the line and converted it to standard gauge to be part of its connection from the Ogden line to Klamath Falls.
