The Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway is still in operation through December 31st of this year. This is the first winter in the over 100 year history that this railroad has operated. There is still very little snow on the mountain. I took the noon train on the first day of winter last Saturday. The weather was great and the views just as spectacular as ever.About 150 people showed up to ride the train. Colorado Springs, however is going to be in alot of trouble with water if the drought continues through the spring. Most of thier reservoirs on the mountain are almost bone dry.
