Post subject: Love that tender!

All of us steam locomotive aficionado's are always amused when we see a model steam locomotive displayed with the engines tender "backwards"; that is, with the coal bunker AWAY from the cab and the water compartment NEXT to the cab. We smile and shake our heads and dismiss the "error" as just being a case of the person displaying the engine and tender as just not knowing what he (or she) was doing.
Well......recently when going through George Elwoods nice website (which can be reached through RYPN's LINKS in the Organizations and Societies section under a "Very long list" etc.) I came across a photo of Rahway Valley Railroad 2-8-0 #13 with the tender TURNED THE WRONG WAY! And #13 was obviously being used with wisps of steam coming from the cylinders and pumps! You can even see the coal in the tender. Can someone please explain this to me? Maybe all those poor souls who didn't know what they were doing really did after all!!!
