Post subject: | Guilford getting rid of equipment |
According to Guilford's web site, they are looking to get rid of the following items: *Coach & Food Service Passenger Car #391 - Postwar Pullman Standard - Last used in 1986. *Coach MEC 970 - Former Maine Central wreck train camp car. *Coach B&M 1111 - Former Boston & Maine wreck train camp car. *Coach AMTRAK 5616 - Coach never operated in Guilford Rail System service. *Wreck Crane - MEC 180 - Built: 1922 Rebuilt: 1957 120 ton capacity 6 1/2 x 12 roller bearing trucks. Total weight: 258900 lbs. D326 Caterpillar engine. Last operated in July 1984. *Wreck Crane - MEC 160 - Friction bearing trucks. Last repack July 1984. Self-propelling feature on front and rear trucks. Some of the cranes could be hidden away at EDY, but I think the coaches/camp cars are probably all stashed away in Waterville. If you ever look back there (from public property, of course) behind the east end of Waterville, you will see a bunch of old coaches, cars, cranes, etc. Not to mention engines (depending on when you go). ******************************************************************************** NERAIL@LISTSERV.AOL.COM The Original place on the internet to discuss everything about New England Railroading and Railfanning! ryarger@rypn.org |
